1st Birthday Party

Today was my nieces first birthday party.
She had a great time opening presents but by the time she had two open she was ready to play with her toys. Especially after she opened her mini see and say from her aunt in California (her dad's sister). She loved the animal sounds that it made. It was the toy of the hour. Then came cake time. Her mom held her up on the table so that every one could see her and in classic baby style she got it everywhere. At first she didn't know exactly what to do with it but learned quickly that chocolate is good. She actually ended up with her foot in it by the end. She was such a mess we gave her a quick bath in the sink.
Then I put on her new purple outfit that I bought her. Isn't she so cute. And her aunt Kelly looks great in this picture too!! If I do say so myself.

I do have to say this was one of the funniest birthday parties I have ever been too. With only 12 people attending we managed to have 5 cameras and 3 video cameras capturing every moment. Of course she is the only grandchild on her dad's side and though I have two nephews they live out in Georgia and we don't get to participate in things like birthdays very often. Family is one of God's greatest gifts on earth and I have to say I have been blessed with an amazing one. I thank the Lord for the wonderful people he has placed in my life. My parents and siblings are all amazing examples to me of how God works in our lives.
