Road to Honduras
School is wrapping up and summer is approaching quickly! Yeah!! So time has come to start raising money for my mission trip to Honduras. This year we have gotten serious about fund raisers since we have 3 couples and a Father/Daughter going with us. It is not cheap for one person but for 2 it is pretty expensive.
So today was the beginning of 4 weekends of Fundraising. We had a family in our church that said they would donate $1000 for going and cleaning up the yard at their rental house that they are trying to sell. We had 8 of us come out to help. I forgot to take a before picture but it looked much better after about 3 hours of work today and there will be more to do next week as well. I mainly pulled weeds and raked leaves. We did find a little garter snake that made his way into one of our leaf bags.
The frustrating part of the day was when I had to run to wal-mart to get more lawn bags and I forgot that today is High School Graduation Day. It took me 15 minutes just to drive a mile down the road. So it ended up taking an hour and only 10 minutes of that time was actually spent in the store.
Here are a few pictures of our day. And I have included our lovely "art" project. There was a toilet that was going to the junk yard so we filled it with monkey grass that we pulled out of the flower bed.
