Happy New Year Again!

Today I celebrated Chinese New Year with my family. My sister-in-law is Chinese and they have adopted a little girl from China, so all of my family that lives in Oklahoma went to the Chinese New Year celebration tonight. It was put on by an organization made up of families from all over the area who have adopted kids from China.

It was so fun to see all of the kids dressed in their traditional Chinese clothing. We ate "Americanized" Chinese Food, had a Kung Fu demonstration, and then the kids got to participate in a Lion Dance.

And of course I have to put in some pictures for everyone to see so here you go.


This is an actual Lion they had shipped from Hong Kong so the kids could do the Lion Dance. I enjoyed actually getting to see one up close since I talk about them in my music classes this time of the year.

At one point most of the kids had gotten up on the stage and were busy dancing around. Here Kallie had just grabbed another little girls hand and they started spinning around in circles.
