Panic Attack!!!!

What does a stage, sound system, and 110 kindergartners equal? TOTAL CHAOS!!!!

Tomorrow night is the Kindergarten Celebration in which they perform a little musical and then we watch a 30 minute video that they made out what they want to be when they grow up. It is all really cute for the parents but an absolute nightmare for me. Okay so really I think they are absolutely adorable but when they still don't know their parts and they can't be quite long enough to actually get the speaking parts said, I start to panic!!

Of course I had another fiasco that added to the panic. A dad of one of my students graciously volunteered to make the costumes for the main characters. He used to design Broadway costumes when they lived in New York. He ended up having to go to New York on business and shipped the costumes to me. I was supposed to receive them last week but they didn't get here until today about noon. They are incredibly adorable however, I realized that two were missing. And one of those belonged to a parent who was coming to pick it up right after school. So I explained that since I told them their costumes would be made I would make them tonight and have them tomorrow.

Needless to say after work I ran to Hobby Lobby, spent 30 bucks, and got to work. I was actually quite amazed at how cute they turned out. Of course I sort of had a starting place because I made them in the same style as the other costumes but I am still impressed with myself. Though I think the most amazing part is I managed to make them both in about an hour. So I had to put pictures of them on here so that you could share in accomplishment as well.

Every Day in May

So I was surfing around on the blog-o-sphere and I came across a blog called French Toast Girl. She had an interesting challenge for herself to paint a picture everyday in the month of May. She encouraged others to join her in displaying their own artistic talents each day of the month.

I have decided that I am going to take an interesting photo everyday in the month of May and then June 1 I will put them all up in a slide show. I think this will be alot of fun! So is anyone up for joining me in this random art adventure?

Risotto is Yummy!

Tonight we made the mushroom and asparagus risotto. It was quite yummy. I didn't take a picture though because it didn't look as pretty as last night's food.

Tomorrow Cornish Game Hens!

A Food Nework Weekend!!

My dad says he always dreads when I come home for a weekend and get stuck in the house. He says it always costs him money because I want to try out too many ideas that I see on TV. Which is true very often some part of their house gets redecorated or like this weekend I get the urge to cook new fun things. But hey he benefits from it!

This weekend has become a Food Network Weekend! My mom and I watched about 4 hours of cooking shows yesterday and decided to try out some new recipes. Last night was a Rachel Ray evening. We made Mexican Meat-zza: Mexican Deep-dish Pan Pizza and Mexican Sundae's. Both were delicious and I decided to attach a picture just to make you jealous!!

Tonight we are getting a little more fancy with a Robin Miller recipe for Asparagus-Wild Mushroom Risotto with Parmesan. I will let you know how that one turns out later!

Spring Has Sprung!!

Apparently my favorite subjects for photos are my nieces/nephews and flowers. In honor of the lovely weather we have been having and the fact spring is just around the corner here are some more awesome flower pictures. These are all taken around my house. My yard is actually a disaster but if you take close up pictures no one ever knows the difference. :)

P.S. I really don't like the fact that now when you enter pictures it gives the html instead of seeing the picture when creating a post. That really throws me off! Like the fact I am really not sure why this is showing up beside the picture instead of under it and the other text is on top instead of beside the picture!

Amazing Beauty!

I love this time of the year. The weather is perfect, the flowers are blooming, and thanks to day light savings the sun goes down later. Yesterday, was such a beautiful day that I decided to go out and take some pictures. These are just some daffodils that were at Lake Fayetteville and the others are of the cross up at Mount Sequoyah.

School was out again today so I went to Lake Fayetteville and took a few more pictures of the snow. I think icicles are beautiful and fascinating.

What A Week!!!

Well this has been an interesting work week for me. I worked all day Monday and then took Tuesday off to deal with the plumbing issue. Then Wednesday we got out of school two hours early because of snow and now we are out today and tomorrow. So I have worked a day and a half in the week. That is pretty crazy!!

I love the snow and today was a perfect snow day. It was cold outside but the wind wasn't blowing so it wasn't bad. My roommate and I walked a half mile to the gas station just to get out of the house. After that short jaunt we decided it wasn't that cold and we headed a mile in the other direction to Lake Fayetteville. As we got to Lake Fayetteville we realized that Lewis and Clark Outfitters was just up the road and Kathy wanted to buy a winter coat. So we hiked up to the store and she did find a coat she liked. The funniest part was that we had all been joking yesterday about her walking up there to buy a coat and we really did it.

In the process I got some really pretty pictures so here are a few wonderful snow pics.

A Prayer for You!

As I have said before I love photography and I like to play around with pictures. So today in my random unexpected spare time (see previous post) I created this from a photo I had taken in the fall. It is my prayer for us all.

Harvest Time!

Well this has been a very busy few months. However, I still took some time to stop and gaze at the beautiful fall folage this year. The leaves have been so beautiful. I am amazed every fall as I see the beauty that God has created. It is like an amazing gift that a picture can never capture. But I try anyway.

Down on the Farm

A few weeks ago my grandmother on my dad's side passed away and so all of the family was together again. While we were there we realized that my brother-in-law had never been to the family farm where my mom grew up. The farm is only 5 miles from where my dad grew up. The strangest part is that my mom and dad lived that close together and never met each other until Jr. College, but that is another story.

While we were at the farm we got to go and see the baby cows. It was the first time my nieces and nephew have been up close to a cow. They even got to pet them. It is so amazing. The sad part is that in a few years the farm could be completely gone because they are rebuilding the highway right through the middle of the silos.

Anyway here are a few pictures for our time at the farm. The big white house is the house my mom grew up in. It is in need of great repair but it is cool that it is still there. For the time being anyway.
