Another Layout!

It's a miracle I managed to get more than one layout done today! I have been wanting to do a layout with this picture for a couple of weeks now but finally got around to it. I guess downloading freebies everyday does pay off occasionally. :)

Hobby Time!

It seems as though the last few months I have been so busy that I haven't had time to sit down and scrapbook. And the time I have had to spend on scrabooking I have spent downloading freebies for scrapbooking. It almost seems as though my hobby has become downloading freebies instead! However, today I have been able to spend some time actually scrapbooking. I took some of our pictures from our blackberry picking yesterday and created this.

New Pages!

I have been working more on my nieces brag book over the last few days. Tonight I did two pages that I am really proud of so I thought I would share. The elements on the second page I made myself using the papers from a kit called Dottie. Well all of them except the tag. I am not sure who where I got the papers because the creator didn't leave any info with their download.

New Tricks!

I have been spending time the last few days learning more about my Photoshop Elements program. I am so excited to know how to cut paper the way I want and now I can even create my own alphabets out of paper! I have also learned how to use different effects so that my elements look more real! This has been so much fun. Here is my first layout using some of my new tricks.

Basket Boy!

This weekend I went to visit with my family, and as always had a great time with my nieces and nephew. My newest nephew is getting more handsome everyday! Saturday night he was laying on the floor next to an empty laundry basket. He was so enthralled by the basket we decided to sit him in it and of course it brought about some of the most adorable pictures!

Whoo Hooo!!

I am so excited. I finally got two books in that I ordered at the end of January! I ordered two books on Digital scrapbooking, they both teach you how to make your own backgrounds and elements using photoshop elements. I am so excited about learning how to do all of this! I really hope that I can get good at it and be able to share some of my creations with other scrapbookers who have so graciously shared with this beginner.

Tonight I ventured into the art of creating patterns and using those patterns in backgrounds. It was pretty easy though I had to completly redo one part because in my excitment to hurry up and dive it I skipped over the fact that I was supposed to change the pixels to 300 instead of the default 72. I only relized it after I had finished with the patteren I as working on and wondered why my patterns weren't as clear and crip as those in the book. But thank goodness it didn't take me long to correct the problem.

I am really hoping for a snow day tomorrow, one because I really want to learn more about my program; two because the kids have been wild all week and I am exhausted; and three because I am bumbed about missing the total lunar eclipse tonight from all the cloud cover. I figure it is only fair for mother nature to give me the day off if she is gonna make me wait two and a half more years to see a total lunar eclipse.

What a Weekend!

This has been a wonderful weekend. In my personal opinion I think we should always have 4 day weekends. It gives you time to get things done and time to recover from running around everywhere!

My weekend has been full of downloading stuff from my digital scrapbooking and going to the movies :) I saw both Untraceable and The Bucket List this weekend, both of which were pretty good but The Bucket List was definately my favorite. And in the midst of doing all of my fun creations my sister-in-law decided that I needed to maker her another brag book because the one I made her in at Christmas 06 is all old pitures now. The last one I made was a traditional scapbooking brag book but this years will be digital!

So here is a sneak peak at your first page Gail, but I won't put them all up here :)

Snow Day!

Well we got out for a snow day today. Actally, the roads didn't start getting bad until tonight but with the threat of up to 5 inches of snow they decided to go ahead and close. We ended up with about two inches and the schools are already closed tomorrow because all the roads are turning to ice.

I love snow days because I have nothing to do. It becomes a total free day for me. So during my free time today I sat at the computer and downloaded a ton of free scrapbooking elements and kits to use in my new scrapbooking past time. I even discovered a place called Stone Accents Studio. They have some really beautiful kits for sale and also every month they have a thing called the color challenge. Basically you are given a kit and about 6 different colors, you have to make a layout incorporating at least 3 of those colors. So I decided this would be a great chance for me to try out my newly discovered skills and be able to get some insipration from fellow scrapbookers as well.

So this is my first attempt. I would love your feedback on it, whether you think you know anything about graphic layouts or not. Just let me know if you like it or if you have any ideas on how to improve it.

I Even Surprise Myself!

So after picking up a few tips from a tutorial I went though last night I managed to pull this page off today in 20 minutes. I am pretty proud of myself! Digital scrapbooking is amazing. So much faster than the old fashioned scrapbooking and I don't have a mess to clean up!

Thanks to ShabbyPrincess for the wonderful freebies so I could make this page!

A New Endeavor

Thanks to my friend Brandy, my new computer, and having Photoshop 6.0, I have taken up a new hobby that is quite fun. I started Digital Scrapbooking today. I love scrapbooking but hate having to clean up all the mess left behind. So now I can have the best of both worlds! Here is my very first attempt!
