25 and counting

Today I turned 25. It was a very busy day and I really didn't have time to stop and think. Though after being in my classroom from 8 until 6:30, my friends were great and took me horseback riding. It has been a while since I have ridden. While I was sitting there watching them ride the Switchfoot song "This is Your Life" started going through my head. And I began to think about my life, where I have come from and where I am going.

If I had my way I would be married, have a child, and be a stay at home mom. I couldn't be any farther from that today. I am single, teaching 600 children, and the closest thing to my own kid are my niece and two nephews. Even though my life is not the way I had dreamed since I was a small child, I am much more fulfilled then I ever could have imagined. It is amazing how when you follow God's plan and not your own you are filled with unbelievable joy.

I am not saying that this journey has been easy, in fact it has been quite difficult and it is far from being complete. Yet, everyday I thank the Lord for guiding me and walking with me all the way. For he never leaves me or forsakes me.
