1st graders

I think first graders are the best. They have been in school for a year so they know how things run, yet they are young enough that they still love school and love their teachers. Plus they are brutally honest and say the funniest things. Yesterday I we were reading a story about a bear and it said that the bear was hibernating. I asked the kids if they knew what it meant and they told me it is when animals sleep for a long time. One little boy raised his hand and said "My hamster hibernated once but then he was just dead." My first graders always make my day better. I am glad I always have them at the end of the day.
