The one thing about being a smaller size is that a small amount of weight gain greatly affects your clothes size! My body is quite odd in that in a weeks time I managed to gain 10 pounds over spring break. I really didn't stuff myself all week but I did eat alot food that I don't normally eat. And it didn't help that I didn't drink nearly enough water either.
Now it has been an week and a half since spring break and I still haven't lost any of that 10 pounds. It doesn't help that I am emotional eater either. Seeing as I have been not the best of emotional states the last few days, I have been relying on comfort food to cheer me up. Which really doesn't help because at the moment it makes me happy but as soon as I stop eating I get more depressed because I am mad at myself for eating such bad food! And because it makes me depressed then I don't want to exercise and it all becomes a vicious cycle.
So today I am taking back control of my eating. I have decided that I am going to lose 20 pounds by the end of the summer which would put me at an all time low of 153!! That would mean I will have lost a total of 120 pounds! And I will weight less than my sister and my friend Lindsay. Of course it really isn't fair because they are both having babies this summer but oh well I have to revile in the victory even if it will be short lived.
Also, I don't think I am going to run in the Race for the Cure now. I threw my back out over Spring Break and haven't been able to get to the chiropractor yet. Running makes my back hurt worse so I haven't run for two weeks. I am planning on doing the Butterfield 5K the next weekend and I will run as much of it as I can. Though my goal is still to run an entire 5k by the end of the year.

Hi Kelly!
You seem focused on removing extraneous weight (fat tissue), rather than adding more. Since summer is coming, that is a practical idea, you don't need the extra insulation or energy storage that fat gives.
Fat actually is a wonderful thing, although too much of a good thing is problematic in other ways. Biologically, fat protects against winter chill, environmentally hazards (drought, starvation) and provides an energy storage depot during periods of lethargy and inactivity. Also, a mother can't bear a healthy newborn unless she has a certain amount of fat, it's dangerous for both the mother and infant if she has less than a certain percent of fat (I forgot the exact percent).
So, fat by itself is not a problem, it's normal and healthy.
I would suggest that you determine your preferred minimum weight based on optimum health for your height and age. Obviously, you don't want to become so thin that your body becomes unhealthy, that is unbalanced and makes things worse, so choose your minimum acceptable weight.
Just as a example, a person might choose to set boundaries at minimum 120 and maximum 140 lbs. and then maintain an equilibrium in that zone by keeping a physical metabolism to match it with daily exercise and healthful foods.
To illustrate, imagine an apple diets where you eat an apple every day, it's ok to eat other food if you want but you must eat that daily apple because that is required for health and well being. No matter what other distractions occur, let nothing interfere with that daily apple intake, because it satisfies the minimum requirements, so you have no problems with starving.
Once that part is understood and followed, then just increase your activity level by doing aerobics mixed with some stretching and a bit of yoga meditation / calm breathing techniques (this helps deal with unavoidable distractions with a daily time for grace and prayer).
There is nothing in the world wrong with having body fat but you want the best combination of muscle and fat for your height and metabolism. Ask any beautiful dolphin!! They're surrounded by thick blubber, yet are so sleek and trim because when awake they are active. A truly fat-free dolphin is a very sick dolphin, same with us, we need our fat layer. We just don't need too much.
