An Amazing Weekend!!

All weekend I was in Warrensburg Missouri at our New Frontiers Family Camp. New Frontiers is the organization that my Church is affiliated with. All of the churches in the mid-west came together for a time of corporate worship, teaching, and fellowship. It was great fun but also God was definitely moving.

One thing I love about my church is their desire to see the Holy Spirit move in great power. To see signs and wonders so that people may see and believe that Jesus is Lord of all. We want a place were the Holy Spirit is free to speak, we listen, and are free to act upon His movement. Most of our teaching this weekend was on the Holy Spirit and the power that we posses when the Spirit dwells within us. Power to perform great signs and wonders. Power to heal the sick, see blind eyes opened, see the lame walk, and even see the dead raised. In John 4:12-14 Jesus said "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it." He was speaking of the miracles He had been performing.

I want to see this Power! I want to see God moving in amazing ways and many coming to faith in Christ! Knowing that it is not by any power that I or any man can posses but only through the power of the Spirit.

On Saturday night I got to experience a bit of this amazing power myself. Terry Virgo spoke on Saturday night on the power of the Spirit. Then after the message he called all people who wanted prayer for healing to come to the front, especially those with lower back pain. He had suffered from lower back pain for years caused by one leg being shorter than the other. One evening a pastor friend prayed over him and his leg literally grew to be the same length as the other. Since that time he has been praying for others with the same affliction and seeing God move in the same way.

When he called specifically for people with lower back pain I knew I was supposed to go and be prayed over. And if I had any doubt my friend Kimberly was right there pushing me to the front as well! When I got down there he had us sit in chairs and he sat on the floor and held our feet in his hands. This way everyone could see which leg was shorter and by how much. The first lady he prayed for had almost a two inch difference in her legs. He began praying and we watched her leg get longer! It was amazing! And after about 5 minutes her legs were the same length. She stood up and there was no more pain! He began praying for others and the same thing was happening.

Then he came to me. I have had fairly severe back pain for 2 1/2 years now. I have been to the Doctor, physical therapist, and the chiropractor. All have made it better but the pain has never been fully gone. On the 4 hour drive on the way to Warrensburg my back was hurting very badly and I could hardly stand up straight. When Terry held my legs in his hand my right leg was about 1/2 inch shorter than my left. He simply asked God to grow my leg. It wasn't a big fancy prayer just a simple request but one asked in great faith. In an instant I felt like someone was gently pulling my leg from the hip down. I knew it wasn't Terry pulling on my leg because his grip wasn't tight enough around my ankle to do so. My leg was actually growing! In a matter of a minute my legs were the same length!!! I stood up and the pain was greatly reduced. I still have some pain but it is no where near what it was before. On the way home tonight my back didn't hurt at all and typically I can't ride more than an hour without being extremely uncomfortable!

PRAISE THE LORD!! For I know that it is He that has healed my body and continues to heal my body! I know that he is releasing us into a time in history where signs and wonders are going to be more and more prevalent everywhere we look. All we have to do is ask! It is amazing to me that God grants us such a privilege as to call upon His name to see miraculous signs and wonders so that His name will be praised in all the earth!
