Driving!

Have you ever just been in your car, maybe on your way home from work, and the thought of adventure hits you? You just decide to keep driving instead of going home. You have no agenda. No place in particular you want to end up. You just want to roll down your windows, crank up the music, and find a curvy two lane road that will take you somewhere you have never been before.

That is exactly what happened to me yesterday. On my way home from work I decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and go exploring. So instead of turning to go home I kept driving. I wanted to avoid the main highway so just drove north on 71B. As I hit Rogers I decided to go to Pea Ridge. I had never been there before but had heard about the Civil War Battlefield that is near there.

Pea Ridge is a little off the beaten path with my wonderful curvy two lane highway running into it. It was a wonderful drive, though I think I was annoying the driver behind me because I was driving so slow, but hey I was enjoying my drive. Pea Ridge seems to be exactly the kind of town I would want to live in. It is a small town with a whole two stop signs. The school looked like it has K-12 all on the same campus. There is a gas station, Sonic, and Subway. What more could you possibly need? And if you need the amenities of a larger town, like good old Wal-mart. Rogers and Bentonville are only a 10 minute drive away. I could totally see myself living there. But there are three downfalls. One, it would be a 40 minute drive to work every day, and I am not a morning person. Two, it would be a 50 minute drive to church every Sunday. Three, It would add another 30 minutes onto my drive to Oklahoma to see my family.

Don't worry I am not moving there any time soon. I just thought it was a great little town. I might do some more adventuring this weekend and see where my car takes me. Thank the Lord for good gas mileage!!
