There are things in life that you only learn from mom and dad. They teach us skills that are never taught in school. Those little things that you really didn't like learning in at the time and yet you realize just how handy they are later in life.
I must take a moment to that thank my mom and dad. For had not they taught me a certain set of skills I would not have been able to accomplish my task today. The overwhelming task of making and hanging curtains!
I made some curtains to cover a storage shelf in my class room. It doesn't have doors and seeing as I am not the most organized person in the world, most of the time it is a great eye soar. So finally this year I broke down and bought some fabric.
I sat down at my sewing machine, that I got for free a few weeks ago, read the manual so I could figure out how to thread it, and got busy. It only took me about an hour. Of course it was all straight edges but I did it! Then I had to bust out the tape measure and drill so that I could mount the curtain rod for them to hang on. They turned out pretty cute, if I do say so myself, and they add alot more color to my dark "cave" of a music room.
(Picture to come tomorrow!)
