She's Alive!!!

No, I have not died or had any major calamity befall me, nor has my keyboard broken as my brother so lovingly asked last night. The last week and a half has pretty much just been mass chaos around my home. Lots of things have occurred since last we spoke.

1) Tim and Lindsay (the people who own my house) are back in the states and are now living with me with their two month old daughter. It is great having them around but makes a lot less free time for me.

2) Our church has started volunteering with a class at Lifesource and I am in charge of all the child care. Though I always have a ton of help, Tuesdays are very loooong days. And we have also started our weekly bible studies now so that is another good thing but it keeps me busy.

3) Last weekend I spent 6 hours on lesson plans because I had workshops all this week. My sub was great and an actual music teacher, so she was going to be able to teach the kids instead of just showing videos, so I thought. On Monday morning at 6:45 she calls saying she is sick. So in a panic I run to school, change my lesson plans as quickly as possible, call my principle to let her know what is happening, get in the car, run to Vandergriff, get to the front office, tell them what is going on, hand over a video and run off to Happy Hollow where the workshop was. Everything worked out okay but it was not a fun start to the week. So I spent all day Monday at workshops. Called my sub and found out she couldn't be there on Tuesday so I sent my Principle an e-mail, at 8:20 Tuesday morning learned not to send my Principle e-mails, because I got a panicked phone call wondering where I was because there was a 4th grade class sitting in my room with no teacher. Thank goodness that all got worked out. But apparently I had lost my brain the day before because I could no longer find my key to the school, which is still missing, and managed to make it home without my computer, something I have never done! And of course since I couldn't find my key I couldn't go back and get it! The rest of the week has not been so crazy but I have been playing catch up from everything else.

4) My workshop has been great and I will tell you more about that later. I have learned so much! And have learned alot of new strategies to use in my classroom.

5) My friend Amy came into town Friday night. So we went shopping and had a great time hanging out.

6) Then comes Jeremy, of course we are so busy any free time we have we try to spend together. Then over the weekend his blood sugar shot sky high, he is diabetic. I was so worried about him. And on top of the craziness that was Monday, Jeremy and I had our first little tiff. Really it was all my fault and I apologized later. I got upset with him because he had to cancel our plans for the evening because he got a headache. And because I went to work out, I didn't find out until I was just getting ready to leave. It was just one of those "straw that broke the camels back" situations. And Jeremy and I are doing great and we had an awesome lunch together on Thursday.

So as you can tell this last week has been nothing but craziness. But in the midst of it God has held me together. He is the only thing I can cling too. I think I might have gone crazy if I didn't have such a firm foundation to stand on. I am always so amazed at how even in the midst of trials and disappointments I have a joy and peace that only comes from Jesus Christ!

I will try to keep up a little better now that life has seemingly leveled itself back out. And hopefully I can find my school key soon!
