40 Years and Still Going Strong!

As I wonder though this vast wilderness that us Americans like to call "dating" I wonder how it is ever possible for two people to find each other. As I roam from tree to tree wondering if my "price" will be around the next bend, I encounter many on similar journeys. Some are wondering alone searching like me. Others have met someone and are trying to see if their paths continue in the same direction. Some have recently decided that the path they are on together will continue as far as the eye can see. Some are struggling to stay on the same path and some have discovered they have lost each other but it is too late to turn back. Yet, once in while there is a beam of light that shines through the thick canopy. A light that is warm and inviting. A light that brings hope to even those who are lost and discouraged on their journey. This light streams from those who have loved and fought, struggled and carried each other along the way. A light that streams from the few that find value in hard work and self-sacrifice. This light is the light of those who found each other and continue to love and endure through good times and bad.

I am so very grateful to have a giant ray of light that shines upon my family. This last Saturday my parents had their 40th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately, a marriage lasting this long is rare these days. There aren't many who have accomplished such a feat and still love each other and care for each other as my parents do. They are truly and inspiration to me and love them with all of my heart!!
