Honduras is an amazing and beautiful country. I just got back from spending a week there. I went with a team from my church and we did different outreach projects. Each day we held a Vacation Bible School type thing at a local school, then every afternoon we spent either laying a concrete floor in a house or helping build with adobe blocks and putting on a roof. As usual it was an amazing trip but honestly I think this was the best missions trip I have ever been on and I have been on 7 trips now. Our team worked well together. Where one person was lacking another person was right there to pick up the slack. We also really blended well with the staff there. It was like we had known them forever, well a few I had known from before.
My favorite part of the entire trip was the time Corbett and I spent talking to Gloria. Gloria is the woman whose house we were helping to put a roof on their new home. Her husband was building it all by hand and had even made all of the adobe brick himself. Gloria speaks no english and Corbett and I speak no Spanish. It is amazing to me how we can communicate with eachother without words. Even though we couldn't talk as I would have liked we were connected by our love for Jesus. It was so awesome! And I learned how to make corn tortillas from scratch. I never realized they were so easy to make.
Over the next few days I will post more pictures and tell more stories about what we did. Right now I am about to fall asleep so I am going to bed.
