Today was our first day back after Christmas Break. You know I think that every nine weeks we should get a 2 week break. I think it would make the teachers much more effective. I know that by the time Christmas gets here I have completely run out of steam. My brain won't function to write good lesson plans and I get frustrated with the slightest behavior problems because I am exhausted.
Honesty I wish I taught at a year round school. I realize that it is hard to work out the schedule if you are a working parent but I personally think I would be a better teacher if I had the chance to just stop every few weeks. And even though I am not some highly qualified researcher I think that it would help students to be more focused as well. You can tell a difference in behavior and productivity when we get back from a break.
