Procrastination Is My Middle Name!

Well I have returned home from my wonderful Spring Break. Once again my procrastination has caught up with me. I got back at noon today and instead of working on my lesson plans, as I should have, I caught up on all my TV shows that I missed all week. I couldn't dare walk in to the teachers lounge and not know what happened on American Idol, LOST, and Gray's Anatomy.

After catching up on my shows I continued to procrastinate as I went to Sonic to grab a late lunch. I then continued the afternoon of procrastination with a shower. Once I got out of the shower I had finally decided to sit down and work on lesson plans, when my phone rang. Kimberly was calling to remind me that I was going to bring snacks for church tonight. So in procrastinating form I immediately left and went to the store to buy snacks for church.

Of course I don't consider going to church as procrastinating. However, my 30 minutes of hanging out and talking after church was more procrastinating. The funny part is that I talked with my friend Sean, who is a teacher as well, about how neither one of us had lesson plans ready for tomorrow. Then on the way home I called Kai and talked to him for about 45 minutes. Which was wonderful!

Then finally after hours and hours of procrastination I finally sat down and did my lesson plans. Amazingly enough it only took me an hour to get all my plans ready. I actually finished them before I sat down to blog tonight!

I really don't know why I procrastinate so much. It is not like getting my lesson plans together is a great challenge. Okay sometimes it is a great challenge. However, most of the time they are only a challenge because I don't give myself enough time to think about what I am going to be doing. You would think after 3 years of teaching I would learn to get things planned during the week and not bring it home with me. But apparently I haven't learned that lesson yet.
