Unknown Impact!

Today was parent teacher conference day at school. Being the music teacher I don't normally get parents who come and talk to me. However, today I was pleasantly surprised by few who dropped in. They were parents of kids who usually don't fully participate in my class. Or they act like they are too cool for music. Then their parents came in and told me that their kids have been singing songs in the car and talking no stop about our musical coming up. I was floored. I had assumed these kids didn't care and yet they seem to care more than others. I guess I really don't take the time to think about how much impact I have on these kids lives everyday. Even the ones that drive me crazy!! Music does touch all of our lives whether we choose to acknowledge it or not.
