Speechless!!!

Have you ever met someone you had read about but never expected to meet in person? How did you react? How do you think you would react? Well today I found out exactly how I would react, and apparently I just stare dumbfounded and at a loss for words.

Brother Yun, a house church pastor from China, was speaking at the First Baptist Church of Springdale today. My roommates and I planned on going to hear him speak. I had read parts of his book "The Heavenly Man" a few years ago, my roommate Whitney had also read his book, but my Kathy had only seen our excitement about a chance to hear him speak so she decided to come along too. Whitney's friend Amanda came with us as well.

So we decided that we would just make a morning of it and go eat breakfast as well. We had a wonderful time just hanging out and chatting over breakfast and then headed to the church. We were there and hour early so that we could get seats in the front. We were slowly wondering toward the sanctuary when all of the sudden one of the doors opened and there stood Brother Yun, his wife, and a few other people with them. All four of us just stood there and stared, none of us knew what to say or what to do. Finally Brother Yun's wife walked over and shook our hands and so we introduced ourselves to the rest of the group.

It was kind of odd to actually get to shake the hand of a man I had read so much about. This man that God has used over and over again in miraculous ways. Yet, he is still just a man. But he is a man seeking hard after God in all that he does. I can't even begin to tell even a small amount of his story. I would strongly suggest you read the book.

It was pretty funny because once we got home this afternoon all three of us were sitting in the living room reading "The Heavenly Man." Tonight I am going to hear him speak again. I am excited because it is a question and answer time although I probably won't be able to think of any good questions to ask.
