Today I had a really bad day. It has been a while since I have left school and just wanted to quit teaching all together. It wasn't that anything particular happened or anything with particularly horrible it was just those little things compiled into 100 children that sat in my class today. I was about to scream and I ran out of the building as quick as I could.
Then I was dreading having to face 30 more kids from Lifesource. I love these kids and they are always great but after having a bad day taking 30 kids on a bus to the bowling ally is not my idea of fun. I went, took the kids, had a good time, though they were really loud on the bus.
The unexpected came in the form of a text message while I was at the bowling ally. I had told a friend that I had had a really bad day and needed a drink. He texted me and said he felt the same and wanted to know if I wanted to meet up with him after we were both finished in the activities we doing at the time. So I agreed and was very glad I did. I had wonderful time talking with him. He turned my crappy day in to a wonderful one. And though he didn't exactly mean to, he helped me remember why I am a teacher and how much I love it. So instead of dreading tomorrow I am looking forward to seeing my kids again.
God is great with the unexpected. He knows who to put in your life right when you need them.
